Family Tree Mobile App
The customer is a financial company from Switzerland. There were three main ideas in the application:
- virtual memorial
- family tree
- social network
Project Composition:
We suggested starting with a behavioral scenario well known to all users — a feed of posts with photos.
Such publications can be made for both living and departed relatives (photos in virtual memorials). Then we added a genealogical tree and the application shone with new colors.
Ancestral Tree
When developing the algorithm for the family tree, many difficulties had to be solved. One of them was the possibility of joint editing of the tree by the whole family at once. At the same time, each person would like to keep his/her own copy in case someone breaks the shared tree by mistake. We solved this issue by giving access to the tree for viewing only to our relatives. From someone else’s tree you can selectively copy relatives to your own tree.
Instagram for the Family
The second important component of our application is the social network, which resembles in its logic of operation the well-known Instagram. In addition to the usual functionality, you can publish a postponed post with a certain date or even leave a posthumous note / will. The post can be made available to the whole family or to individual relatives.
A Social Network for Loved Ones
What makes this social network different from all the others? You can add only your closest people and limit your communication to them.
Virtual Memorial
One of the starting points of the development was the creation of a digital memorial. Each user can manage not only their own profile, but also create profiles of their departed relatives. Photos and publications can also be added for these people. They will appear in the relatives’ feed with special notes. This will help to keep the memory of loved ones alive.
The Result App
We did a lot of comprehensive work on the project:
- Administrative interface;
- Server side (backend with API);
- Mobile application for iOS;
- Mobile application for Android;
- Assistance in registering an account with AppStore and Google Play;
- App publishing.
